Photo Meme

By Leigh

Okay folks, we have Sharon to blame for this post ;) (just kidding). She tagged me for a photo meme. The directions are:

*Go to your sixth picture folder and pick your sixth picture.
*Pray you remember the details.
*Tag five others.

My 6th photo in my 6th photo folder would be this one....

This is my daughter, modeling the shawl in this post for a photo for my Etsy Shop (a lost cause) and my Fiber Gallery (seen here). It was one of many that didn't make the cut (as I am by no means anywhere close to being what might pass as a professional photographer). Which one did I end up using? This one....

Great pictures! Your DD looks awesome in that shawl! I hope you got a good price for it, it's very pretty.

I came over to explain my DD's doll post. What she failed to tell you is that she already has two AM Girl dolls and her dad & I both think that's plenty for a girl who is 10...I mean how many more years is she going to play with these? So last night she came in whining because the doll she wants is back-ordered and if I hadn't already ordered it, chances are she isn't getting it. I told her that I had definately not ordered the doll...so she was a mopey girl for the entire night.

What I didn't tell her was that I did get her a AM Girl mini doll and some other AM Girl stuff.

I'm thinking that she's gotten a bit spoiled because she got the other dolls each year for Christmas...so she's expecting it again. We'll see how disappointed she is.

I finally finished my first knitting piece. It's just casting on, knitting and then casting off. I don't know how to do anything else yet. I need more yarn. I then went and crocheted a few rows on the ends of the piece, which gave it a ruffled look that I'm loving. Course the piece is full of mistakes (dropped & added stitches and the knots from adding new skeins are in the middle instead of at the edges) but it keeps me nice and warm here in the computer room.

What fun that this has brought up such an interesting photo! Lovely shawl, & daughter!

I've no idea what it might pull out of my files, might not be weaving at all, I shall go and see...

Aren't daughters wonderful?! As a teen, my daughter was twice the work of either of my boys, but today she is most wonderful woman on this earth. Your daughter is absolutely beautiful and a good sport. I'm smiling because I can only imagine the unrecorded conversations behind those pictures. BTW, the shawl is lovely.

Renee, I had to laugh because I'm in the same boat with my son's Christmas regarding video games; only he's 21!

Are we going to get some pix of your scarf? Treasure it because every knitter's first project has those little "mistakes." But then, we all have to start somewhere!

Barb and Dorothy, thanks! I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Sharon, isn't it a relief when all the blood, sweat, and tears of raising them pay off! By DD is really a good sport and I'm proud of the woman she is.

Leigh, what a lovely daughter. And if she's as nice as her mother, then what a double blessing!

The meme was fun -- and prompted some reflecting.

Now, it's off to my loom! Yes, I actually have a warp on it, and only 111 more threads to thread this morning and the threading will be done. Then sley, tie on, and w e a v e. Oh yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about!
