But I'm glad you're behaving yourself and being patient :)

Marie and Bettina, good points, bot. Funny how the size of a project effects the overall appearance. "Diddy bag" is an old US military term, meaning a draw string bag to hold small items. I suppose it's more suitable than "purse" in some instances :)Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02435811789823712254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26055463.post-57677569498820307092007-08-17T08:19:00.000-05:002007-08-17T08:19:00.000-05:00maybe you like the mug rug results better than the...maybe you like the mug rug results better than the larger piece for mats, because the repeat is different? that always happens to me, when I use jacquard sock yarns - for larger items than socks:(( the pattern turns out stripey and somehow out of focus:(( what is a diddy bag though? daddy bag I could understand now:))Woolly Bitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11961632742998726155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26055463.post-6928444213625522092007-08-16T09:36:00.000-05:002007-08-16T09:36:00.000-05:00Great reminder, Leigh, of some good end products o...Great reminder, Leigh, of some good end products of weaving. Sometimes I tire of the straight and narrow scarf, table runner, cushion cover object. A cute gift bag is a great alternative.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26055463.post-50713337879243330602007-08-16T09:19:00.000-05:002007-08-16T09:19:00.000-05:00I like your results using the variegated cotton. ...I like your results using the variegated cotton. I think we, or perhaps I should say "I" become jaded when weaving projects because I have a preconceived idea of how a piece will look, either on or off the loom. I like how both the diddy bag and mug rug look. I bet in a year's time you'll see them in a different light.
I'm contemplating the On-line guild but have a 4H loom and not an 8H as the one class calls for. But the ikat class would be worth the tuition.Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16639651281869634626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26055463.post-9623186664529574482007-08-16T06:16:00.000-05:002007-08-16T06:16:00.000-05:00Leigh your space dyed project is great. I have so many ideas I can hardly stand it. And you give me even more ideas!

Someday, Leigh, I'd love to have a Guided Tour of your studio (aka weaving space).Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16933105773412843275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26055463.post-67904806888361504262007-08-15T23:19:00.000-05:002007-08-15T23:19:00.000-05:00I so enjoyed reading this - it'll be a month befor...I so enjoyed reading this - it'll be a month before I get to weave again. I'll have to weave vicariously through and Marie. We've got a family reunion followed by vacation. I'm already in withdrawal. I'm going to check out the online class - thanks for the information!Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06432035940956042729noreply@blogger.com
